- Introduction of checklists and rubrics for teacher and peer assessment
- Use personal reflective portfolios |
Middle Level
All of the above plus:
- Metacognition- the student should learn to understand what’s going on in their head.
- Use the Direct Attention Thinking (DATT) tools – PMI, C&S, OPV, CAF, AGO, APC, DOCA, KVI and RAD
- Cooperative learning introduced
- Learn to use a variety of styles of thinking (Multiple Intelligences)
- Use awareness of learning styles to create action plans for learning.
- Learn to solve problems cooperatively using a variety of strategies (Jigsaw, expert groups, reflection tools)
- Solve problems using a range of strategies (brainstorming, concept mapping, PMI).
- Develop the use of checklists and rubrics to include self-assessment.
- Use personal reflective portfolios

Advanced
All of the above plus:
- Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)- Blooms Taxonomy Cooperative learning
- Tools for comprehension (MI, Mind Mapping, graphic information organisers)
- Rubrics for all tasks are assessed
- Use personal reflective portfolios
