Back to Cluster Project
WHAT?
The Mordialloc Cluster Transition Experience provides incoming year 7 students with the opportunity for a unique glimpse into the life and educational experiences of secondary school. Spanning 2-3 days, this extended visit provides an authentic learning experience both within and of Mordialloc College.
WHY?
Mordialloc Cluster believes that a realistic orientation into secondary school, not only enhances the transition process, but also allieviates student and parent anxiety as the students move to a new phase of their learning journey.
HOW?
Students will:
- Engage in hands-on activities with an environmental and ICT focus
- Meet peers and teachers, have a chance to socialise and make new friends before the new school year
- Orientate themselves to the new learning environment with support from current students and staff
- Particitpate in activities, brefore and after their transition, through material supplied to the primary school designed to support the students' experiences
